DESEMPENHO TÉRMICO DE HIS: UM ESTUDO SOBRE REFORMA EM RESIDÊNCIA UNIFAMILIAR EM MACEIÓ-AL

Design solutions for single-family social housing are reproduced throughout Brazil, without necessary local adaptations. Thus, reforms are recurrent to adapt housing to the resident’s needs, and can lower the thermal performance. The aim of this work is to investigate the impact of reforms (changes in the envelope) on the thermal performance of a housing unit located in Maceió-AL and possible effects of natural ventilation on the users comfort conditions. An housing unit model were simulated in EnergyPlus software v. 8.7, at two orientations (northwest and southeast), with different envelope absorbances (a = 0.3 and a = 0.7). Then, improvements were proposed in the original model, applied to the most favorable orientation to capture natural ventilation (southeast). The light colors envelopes obtained better thermal performance and improvements in natural ventilation resulted in reductions of 2.5 ºC to 4.5 ºC in the standard effective temperature. In addition, the importance of spatial flexibility and adaptability of social housing is emphasized, thus avoiding that future reforms result in problems of thermal performance of dwellings.
