The house, as a symbol, gives its residents a strong feeling of protection and security; emotion that has been taking on great proportions in the pandemic scenario in which the world finds itself since the beginning of the year 2020. In this period, it is possible to observe the growing publicity of the sense of home as a shelter, a comparison that comes with the intention of instructing and preventing the spread of Coronavirus among society. In this context, this article aims to present reflections on the impacts of Covid-19 in the city with an emphasis on the built environment, in view of the importance of the sense of home attributed to the built space, as well as the significance related to essential elements in the constitution. of the house. In this period of social isolation, the different uses and spaces of housing has been going through an important and necessary process of reframing, attenuating the symbolic dimension of architecture as an effective instrument in facing the pandemic.
