Resumo

The activities of construction progress monitoring and controlling are important for an efficient construction management as planned. Even as studies propose the use of visual data technologies to improve these activities, few of them directly address the systematic integration of those tools for progress monitoring with construction management systems. The present study proposes a method for a systematic visual progress monitoring of construction, supported by construction sites 3D mappings using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Building Information Modeling (BIM), integrating with production planning and control process. The research method, which uses Design Science Research, consists of five steps. However, the focus of this paper is the artifact proposal development step, developed from an exploratory study in a construction project, which includes a diagnosis of the adopted production planning and control system, and tests of tools and practical processes associated with the proposed method. As the main contribution, the proposed method presents an integrated management system on three steps, respectively associated to long-term, look-ahead and short-term planning: (1) Project as-planned BIM models development; (2) Systematic monitoring of construction progress based on visual comparison of as-planned and as-built construction status; (3) Visual record of the construction site status and short-term activities monitoring.
