Abstract

Current management tools that use metrics need to introduce changes to enjoy the benefits of BIM. Thus, the following questions are posed: Which metrics apply or make use of information in the context of BIM? How well does building information modelling support metrics? The objective of this research is to characterize the universe of metrics in the AEC industry and the associated potential for mediation by BIM. As a result, a model characterizing metrics in the BIM context and enabling the development and adaptation of new metrics to the BIM context has been developed.
