Estrategias de circularidad para la industria del cemento
Desafíos y oportunidades para el coprocesamiento en Rio Grande do Sul

La construcción civil es uno de los mayores generadores de impactos ambientales, con importantes desafíos para alcanzar mayores niveles de sostenibilidad en sus procesos. Entre los procesos más contaminantes de la industria de la construcción destaca la producción de cemento, por las características de sus procesos tradicionales. Por ello, es necesario comprender cómo se pueden minimizar los impactos de la industria del cemento, adoptando diferentes estrategias, como la circularidad, entendiendo las características productivas regionales. Este estudio tiene como objetivo explorar las perspectivas de disponibilidad de residuos en Rio Grande do Sul, considerando sus tendencias de generación, que pueden ser aplicados como reemplazo parcial del clínker y como combustibles alternativos por la industria del cemento. Para ello, se analizaron de forma comparativa y crítica los datos sobre la generación de residuos por parte de las industrias en Rio Grande do Sul entre 2018 y 2023. El análisis realizado mostró que existen residuos con características físico-químicas y patrones de disponibilidad alineados con las necesidades de la producción de cemento, como lodos de cal y residuos textiles. Estos residuos tienen potencial de coprocesamiento, alineado con las estrategias de sostenibilidad de otras industrias, comprendiéndose oportunidades de circularidad para la producción de cemento.
