O CASO DE CONSTANTINA/RS

Abstract

The present article is part of the research developed for the final graduation project, which had the theme of Housing of Social Interest (HIS). Currently 73% of the municipalities have less than 20 thousand inhabitants, as well as the object of this research the city of Constantina / RS, where HIS units have recently been produced, which has been undergoing changes that compromise habitability and the urban landscape. This study aims to discuss how some urban planning legislation and architectural elements can contribute to the improvement of the urban landscape and resulting in the quality of life of the residents. The methodological procedures adopted were the analysis of reference cases in HIS and the construction of scenarios to simulate and discuss the consequences of changes in legal and architectural parameters for HIS. As results it can be pointed out the need of spaces of transition between the street and the residence that contribute to the appropriation of the public space. As for the urban landscape was verified the importance of the architectural elements and the prediction of the frontal retreat as zone for enlargements and thus characterizing the landscape. The study brings to light the consequences of urban planning legislation for the urban landscape and the quality of HIS in Brazil.
