Abstract

Rivers are a more important source of fresh water in nature, and humans do not live without this natural resource. The water supply through the efforts contributed to a different perception and search for the rivers. The population growth of the City of Salvador in the margins of rivers, entry of the population in the growth and improvement of infrastructures that contributes decisively to a quality of the nature and naturality of the rivers and springs. This context caused impacts on the environment of the city of Salvador, such as the pollution and degradation of the River Basin of Camarajipe. Analyzing the negative impacts of disordered urbanization and the quality of life of residents living in the Camarajipe River communities is the project that presents the idea of Science and Technology. With the procedure used, the Rio Index became, and still goes through, a process of occupation in its meanders, which is again the pollution and the degradation of capital that have been in the water supply of the city in the centuries XIX and XX.
