Abstract

This article presents some reflections and a comparative and qualitative analysis of two models of floating housing with the purpose of establishing project parameters resilient to floods and urban floods. In order to do so, two research objects.In the context of vernacular architecture, we study the floating habitation of the riverbank population of the Solimões River in Amazonas (Brazil), while the floating dwellings of the IJburg neighborhood, in Amsterdam (Holland), are approached in the scope of technological development.
