This article presents the partial results of the qualitative research of the architecture design in the scope of the humanization of hospital architecture in pediatric chemotherapy environments. The context points towards the accelerated adaptation of health environments in face of the introduction of advanced medical technologies. the goal is to identify, through interviews with specialized architects, the main factors that affect the quality in the design process of this type of environment, in order to favor better care for children patients and other users. The results indicate that outpatient chemotherapy treatment prevails over the hospitalization regimen, the importance of volunteer groups' contributions as a further tool for identifying children needs and their caregivers, and the most up-to-date humanization features of architecture such as social rehabilitation environments and positive distractions. The contributions stimulate new research that identifies the best alternatives to meet users' needs and provides the architect to improve the health environment by adopting a strategic vision about its future.
