Abstract

This is a master's research completed at DEHA/FAU/UFAL. The supply of leisure items by tall multifamily buildings has been a constant, possibly in response to growing urban violence and the reduction of the supply of safe public spaces. Since 1992, the building code of Maceió / AL has allowed the use of mezzanine flooring in common use, occupying up to 50% of the typical flooring slab, not counting the application of urban rates. The objective is to characterize the diversity of leisure items present in the multifamily buildings that present the mezzanine floor. Three multifamily buildings with mezzanine were selected from the period from 2010 to 2015 through portfolios available on the Internet. It was verified which the environments and groups of leisure, besides the respective areas that occupy. All the mezzanines of the 3 buildings are fully occupied with recreational environments; however, pilotis also present recreational environments. It is concluded that the mezzanines are not enough to accommodate all the leisure items of the multifamily buildings, but that their effective occupation serves to increase the number of parking spaces in the pilotis.
