Abstract

The article aims to identify the main research trends related to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its relationship with quantity takeoff of services performed during construction, aiming for better project quality through a literature review of the terms and a bibliometric analysis. The methodology consisted of searching the Scopus database for publications from the past five years that related to the terms "Building Information Modeling" and "Quantity Take-off." The VOSViewer program was used to construct and visualize bibliometric maps. The results obtained indicate that the use of BIM for quantity takeoff of services in construction projects has been studied, particularly regarding process automation and integration, and that there is a growing trend in the use of new technologies for field data collection. This study demonstrates a growing trend of research related to quantity takeoff of services in construction projects using BIM and the analysis of available tools to assist and optimize the measurement process.
