A comparative study of the technical and economic aspects of indirect heating system for pools

ABSTRACT: This study presents the analysis of the technical, economic aspects of the pool water heating system using electric heat pumps and natural gas heaters as an alternative to the heating system consisting of heat pumps and electric heaters of a indoor recreation pool. The study compares historical energy consumption and system operation data of heat pumps and electric passage heater - configuration 01, with the estimated data, based on the manufacturers' specifications, for the heating system composed of electric heat pumps and natural gas passage heaters - configuration 2. Results showed a reduction of 38% in operating costs of the system proposed in configuration 02 compared to the initial configuration, with a payback period of 6.17 years, below the proposed 10-year period.
