Abstract

The reuse of waste is part of the economic and environmental reality of the construction industry. In this context, the objective of the work is to evaluate the red ceramic residue as a substitute, in mixed mortars (1: 2: 8), to Portland cement and as fine aggregate. The contents of substitutions to cement were 5%, 10% and 15% and, in the small aggregate, 10%, 15% and 20%. The results indicate that physical parameters are most benefited by the presence of the RCV. In the case of mechanics, substitutions with aggregate have a more negative impact on the compressive strength, and the flexural tensile strength is not impacted.
