Abstract

The urbanization of cities is one of the main factors that contribute to the increase of the sound pressure levels due to the implantation of residential developments. The aim of this work was to evaluate the sound impact through acoustic maps after the implementation of two residential developments located in the neighborhood of Luzia, Aracaju-SE and in the neighborhood of Prisco Viana, Barra dos Coqueiros-SE. For this, field measurements of equivalent sound pressure levels in A-weighted decibels (LAeq) and vehicular volume counting with a 3-year interval were used, in addition to the corresponding computational simulations in CadnaA software for generation of acoustic maps. As a result, it was verified that the implementation of the project located in the district of Luzia, Aracaju-SE, region of high urban nature, did not contribute to the increase of 93% in the flow of vehicles in Av. Dulce Diniz and to the increase of 2dBA in the corresponding sound pressure level, in order to verify a flow of access to the project of 40 vehicles / hour lower than the flow of 480 vehicles / hour registered in said avenue. However, the implementation of the venture located in the neighborhood of Prisco Viana, Barra dos Coqueiros-SE, a poorly urbanized region, made an effective contribution to the increase of 233% in the flow of vehicles of Rua João Vital and the increase of 5dBA in the sound pressure level correspondent, since all flow registered in said street was exclusively of vehicles originated or destined to the enterprise. It is demonstrated, then, that residential developments located in less urbanized regions directly influence the local sound impact.
