MAPA DO RUÍDO DE TRÁFEGO VEICULAR NO BAIRRO DO BESSA, EM JOÃO PESSOA/ PB
Keywords:
urban acoustics, noise pollution, noise map, traffic noiseAbstract
Noise maps are a way of visually representing the sound pressure levels of a given area and are currently an important tool in urban planning. Its relevance consists in both the diagnosis of the problem and the proposition of action plans and / or urban noise control strategies. Previous research about noise pollution in the city of João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba, reported that among the neighborhoods with the highest number of noise complaints reported in the environmental inspection agencies, is the Bessa neighborhood. Therefore, this article has the general objective of evaluating the noise impact caused by traffic noise in the neighborhood of Bessa, in João Pessoa / PB, in order to subsidize action strategies for noise control area. For this, methodologically, bibliographical and documentary research was carried out, updating the data provided by public agencies, field data collection, noise mapping in soundPLAN® software and analysis / discussion of results. The noise maps showed that the neighborhood has sound levels higher than the parameters established by Standard ABNT NBR 10151:2000, in the morning and evening periods. There was a maximum difference of 5 dB (A) between the results obtained in the two analyzed periods, since the data collection was performed at two peak times representing the most critical situation. It is argued that, even if traffic noise was analyzed, it was observed that in addition to the higher levels, there is also the problem of noise pollution due to point sources, making the scenario even more problematic. The research showed that the noise map is an important tool for the analysis and understanding of the urban sound scenarios contributing to a better planning of the cities.
