IMPACTO DO FATOR DE VISÃO DO CÉU NO TEMPO DE PERMANÊNCIA DE USUÁRIOS EM BANCOS DE PRAÇAS

The use and appropriation in public spaces, such as squares, are associated with its characteristics of comfort, safety, quality of furniture and equipment, among others. Regarding urban furniture, benches play a fundamental role, as it favors the permanence of the users in the place. In this context, the objective of the study is to identify if there is a relation between the Sky View Factor (FVC) and the length of permanence of the users in square benches. The method selected was the observation of the users through photographs taken every 10 minutes and hemispheric images with fisheye lens, which were entered into the Rayman software to determine the value of the FVC. The results show that there is a relation between the FVC and the length of permanence of the users in squares benches, since the lower values of the FVC present on average about four times more users and longer time of permanence in the benches. In the morning, the difference in length of stay was not very significant; however, in the afternoon the average length of stay in benches with low FVC was 20 min, practically double the time in the medium FVC, which was 11 min. The methods adopted were efficient to understand the relation between the length of permanence of benches users and FVC and they can be replicated in in similar studies in different climatic contexts and weather conditions (summer and winter).
