This work presents a study about intra-urban natural ventilation in a district in the coast of João Pessoa - PB, which has an unique building height restriction, creating a state of verticalization characteristic to the area. This analysis was made through digital simulation using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). After the district selection, the tridimensional modelling of the current situation of the buildings was initiated (using a CAD software), then it was created a mesh (through ANSYS ICEM) and finally, the natural ventilation simulation was properly started (in ANSYS CFX). There were extracted results in horizontal and vertical section planes. The horizontal planes showed that the most critical state observed was in the pedestrian level, as it is expected, because the wind loses speed the closer it is to the ground. On the other hand, it was observed that there are several areas where the wind speed is almost null, generating stagnated or turbulent areas. However, it is possible to notice that there are areas which the wind speed reaches comfortable levels, being that the effect of channelization located mostly on the streets and blocks that present a greater distance between buildings (a highly important topic to be considered). In the vertical planes we could confirm the ramping of the wind obeying the scaling factor of the buildings proposed by the city laws, however, it is shown that the increase in rugosity of the buildings contributes to the transit of the wind in the lower levels (even though it becomes turbulent).
