A APLICAÇÃO DE METAS NZEB A EDIFICAÇÃO RESIDENCIAL NA ZONA BIOCLIMÁTICA BRASILEIRA Nº 2
Keywords:
energy efficiency, electric power generation, nZEBAbstract
Buildings are significant consumers of energy and have potential to consume it more efficiently but also generate the energy they use. This article aims to identify if a typical Brazilian house is able to meet low energy consumption goals set for Europe. The method used in this research is experimental, through a case study with a model of single family residence representative of Brazilian low-income housing. Simulation of energy consumption and generation was performed in EnergyPlus™, for comparison with nZEB targets, i.e. buildings that consume net energy nearly zero, identified by lower-case ‘n’. The results indicate that even if the design is not energetically efficient, an improvement in the isolation of the building envelope can make it comply with most of the goals considered for any European climatic zone. It was concluded that onsite renewable energy generation is important to achieve low energy consumption targets, but efficiency actions are essential for this purpose.
