This article presents the adaptation process for label A of the project of three new architectural typologies for elementary schools with 5 and 9 rooms, currently under development for the 8 Brazilian bioclimatic zones by the technical team of the Coordination of Infrastructure Development – CODIN of the Education Development National Foundation FNDE. The methodological procedures of the article can be structured in 4 steps: the first one consisted of preliminary diagnosis of the current labels of the projects of the buildings; in the second step, the adequacy of the thermal transmittance of the walls and cover, and the respective final label results were calculated; the third step involved the simulation of the hours occupied in the comfort of the Classroom Block; in the fourth and last step, a summary of the proposals for adjustments by project family was presented. The analysis was comparing input data (transmittance, solar glass factor, shading rate) and envelope labelling results, as well as between label results and percent comfort hours. The data showed that the reach of the prerequisites with reduction of the thermal transmittance of the envelope was sufficient to allow A-label in 6 of the 8 Brazilian bioclimatic zones, with different levels of thermal insulation of the cover. However, additional strategies were required to ensure thermal comfort in classrooms. In this sense, it was concluded that the project should be modified by groups of bioclimatic zones, reaching a total of 3 different standard projects.
