AVALIAÇÃO PRELIMINAR DO POTENCIAL DE GERAÇÃO FOTOVOLTAICA DA COBERTURA DE UMA EDIFICAÇÃO ATRAVÉS DO MÉTODO SOLAR FAN
Keywords:
Solar fan, Photovoltaic potential, EvaluationAbstract
This work aims to verify the applicability of the Solar Fan method to photovoltaic potential assessment. Commonly used for playgrounds, parks and gardens, it is applied in this article on the roof of an educational building to measure the solar access as a first procedure to assess the amount of daylight available to generate electricity. Is it a suitable tool to help designers decide if the location is adequate for photovoltaic generation? The hypothesis is that the software might be used as a preliminary evaluation of the photovoltaic potential. A case study was carried out through modelling and simulation on graphical computer programs, taking into account the building morphology and the legal limits on construction in the surrounding area. The results confirm the hypothesis and show a simple and quick way to qualitatively assess the potential and decide if further studies are worth being performed. The authors conclude that the method is applicable as a preliminary assessment but its quantitative limitations require other means for a thorough evaluation.
