REFLEXÃO SOBRE O ADENSAMENTO CONSTRUTIVO E QUALIDADE AMBIENTAL URBANA:
UM ESTUDO BASEADO NA ANÁLISE DE DESEMPENHO CLIMÁTICO E ACÚSTICO DE TECIDOS URBANOS
Keywords:
urban morphology, urban climate perfomace, urban noise, urban built densityAbstract
The main scope of this research was to evaluate the impacts of built density and urban morphology on the environmental quality of urban spaces, analyzing the aspects of climatic and acoustic performance, in the city of Arapiraca-AL, considering demands for isolation and social integration. The methodological procedures included the monitoring of urban noise and microclimate data in eight urban areas characterized by different patterns of built density and urban morphology in December/2020 and January/2021. Questionnaires were applied to local residents to assess the perception of climatic and acoustic behavior in residential spaces. Thermal differentiations above 3 °C (in the hours of greatest intensity of solar radiation) were identified between the urban space characterized by the dense horizontal morphological pattern and the dispersed high vertical pattern, which also presented lower levels of urban noise. The importance of incorporating green open spaces in urban design was verified as a strategy for optimizing climatic and acoustic performance.
