EFEITO DO AUMENTO DA TAXA DE RENOVAÇÃO DO AR NO DESEMPENHO TÉRMICO DE DORMITÓRIOS DE UM EDIFÍCIO VERTICAL MULTIFAMILIAR NATURALMENTE VENTILADO NA ZB 8

Abstract

The item of the Brazilian standard NBR 15575-1, which deals with the thermal performance of buildings, does not distinguish between naturally ventilated and air-conditioned buildings. The objective is to test the effect of increasing the rate of air renewal on the thermal performance of a multifamily vertical building of the typology of 1 bedroom for the city of Maceió / AL, designed with bioclimatic principles recommended for the bioclimatic zone 8. The method consisted of simulations with the EnergyPlus program, considering 1, 5 and 10 air changes per hour, in the dorms of 6 different 1-bedroom apartments. It was found that in all dormitories the increase in the rate of air renewal reduced the internal temperatures, in the hours following the peak of the external temperature, and brought the internal temperatures closer to the external ones during the night and early morning. Internal temperatures performed better in bedrooms 4 (L) and 1 (S / O) and worse in bedrooms 2 (S / L) and 5 (N / L), followed by bedrooms 3 (L) and 6 (N / O); the increase in the rate of air renewal was satisfactory in the dorms with the worst performance in the hours following the peak of the outside temperature. It is concluded that this result contradicts the Brazilian norm when considering the West orientation a priori as the one with the worst performance; the increase in the rate of air renewal has always improved the behavior of internal temperatures in the hours following the peak of external temperature, and contribute to the increase in air speed and night cooling of the building. The need to revise the Brazilian standard for naturally ventilated residential buildings is reinforced.
