Humans spend most of their time indoors, making Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) essential for health and well-being. In this context, certifications such as WELL and Fitwel have been developed to establish guidelines for healthier and more sustainable environments. This study compared both certifications considering applicability, IEQ requirements, verification processes, costs, and adoption in Brazil. The results show that WELL has higher technical rigor, with greater costs and complexity. On the other hand, Fitwel is more accessible and flexible, which explains its wider adoption in Brazil, despite its lower focus on IEQ. The choice between them should consider the objectives and limitations of each project, aiming to improve environmental quality and occupant well-being.
