Abstract

In the life cycle of a building, the use stage involves the operation and maintenance of a building. These activities are carried out in the context of Facility Management (FM) which also covers a variety of other types of management. FM requires an integrated approach that provides information and data to facility planners and designers. FM is a complex activity that involves different agents, in quantity, with considerable variability in services. There is interest in incorporating advances in Industry 4.0 to the practice of FM, leading to strategic innovations with IoT (Internet of Things) and AmI (Ambient Intelligence). Therefore, the objective of this research is to identify value with the incorporation of IoT and AmI in the practice of FM. The research counted on the participation of the University's Sustainable Campus institute for the case study. The results obtained with the data collection are the total energy production in MWh, the power in KW and the CO2 savings in tons. The case study proved that facility management with the help of technologies such as IoT and AmI bring many benefits such as CO2 reduction and makes the environment more sustainable.
