PERDAS POR MAKING-DO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO EM CANTEIROS DE OBRAS DE FORTALEZA/CE

The competitive market in the civil construction sector causes companies to develop actions in their construction processes to avoid waste. The making-do waste or improvisation comes from a situation where activities are initiated without the necessary resources, such as materials, labor or equipment, or when these items are not suitable for carrying out an activity. The study of this type of waste allows to optimize the planning and control of tasks and, therefore, reduce other types of waste. Thus, this work aims to diagnose waste by making-do, analyzing causes and categories of the waste and its impacts on the production performance of three construction companies in Fortaleza / CE, classifying each waste identified in categories and prerequisites defined by the literature and analyzing the main impacts generated. Therefore, at the end of the study, it was identified that most of the observed events were related to the adjustment of components, being caused mainly by flaws in materials and components and generating, as the most significant impact, the rework in the production processes.
