Abstract

Now, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is taking place, in which the digital, physical, and biological media unite to form Industry 4.0. Much of the construction industry has lagged modernization movements. However, there is a part of this industry that considers it essential to search for new technologies and management methodologies that aim at the efficiency of its processes. The present work analyzed how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can be used in the construction industry to achieve positive impacts on the management of production. Due to its importance in data storage and communication, the Construction Daily Report document was selected for a comparative study between three computer programs, aiming to ascertain the fulfillment of identified parameters. Finally, it was concluded that the analyzed software satisfactorily serves their ICT function, meaning an advance to replace the traditional registration in the Construction Daily Report from written form to virtual form.
