The operational phase of a building is the longest in its life cycle, and the management of activities related to this stage represents a major challenge for managers. Considering this scenario, the aim of this article is to conduct a systematic review, seeking to investigate how augmented reality (AR), a visualization technology widely used in games industry, is being used in the management and maintenance of buildings in recent years. The review was conducted in four research bases, and the data were analysed according to the 5W1H tool. For data analysis, the following questions were asked: Who developed the article? (Who); When was the research published? (When); in which country was the research conducted? (Where); why was the research conducted? (Why); which technologies have been used to enable adaptation to RA? (What); which methodology was used? (How). The results show that interest in the application of AR in facilities management has been growing since 2018, in the national and international scenario, showing the relevance of studies in this area.
