In the recent globalized and sustainable concerned world, new construction systems are emerging in the building sector, which their fire behavior are often unknown. In this article, a brief presentation of the fire events around world was made, mostly considering the buildings with ventilated cladding system that used combustible material. The purpose of this article is to present the risks of adopting this type of cladding in relation to fire safety, taking into account the wide use of this system in the south Brazilian region, especially in high-rise buildings.
