The low performance of buildings added to preventive maintenance lack results in excessive operating and maintenance costs. In this paper, the financial impact of the maintenance activities of newly built plumbing systems was evaluated in relation to their constructive cost. Therefore, the maintenance registry data of three buildings were evaluated, cataloging the demands of the first 5 years of operation. The results show that in 5 years, most of these buildings had already consumed approximately 30% of the construction value with maintenance interventions, a high index that indicates weaknesses in the construction and maintenance processes
