Abstract

This study analyzes, in the Brazilian scenario, satisfaction related to the neighborhood, based on individual perceptions. A 5-point questionnaire was developed, and a sample of 426 respondents was collected. A factor analysis was carried out in 3 groups of variables: Characteristics and resources of the urban environment; Public service and maintenance; and Environment performance. In total were 53 variables which were reduced to 13 factors. The results confirmed the reliability of the aspects examined, despite the geographic and cultural differences where the reference studies were carried out and contribute to determining the main constructs that influence the perceptions about the neighborhood.
