The mass production of Social Housing results in losses in terms of their habitability, failing to meet the needs of residents, leading them to renovate the houses. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the motivations for house renovations and their impact on the user's perception of thermal comfort. The methodological approach is based on the Post-Occupancy Evaluatuion, as object of study the Residencial Jardim Royal, in Maceió- Brasil. In the study, residents of 39 dwellings were represented, implanted under four different solar orientations. The analyzes showed that the most frequent renovations were the construction of walls and roofs in the external areas (front and/or back), affecting the use of natural ventilation and, consequently, the thermal comfort of users, pointed out by all respondents. Given the diversity of transformations that can occur in family dynamics, it is concluded that the guarantee of technical assistance through government programs is essential to promote quality in Social Housing, allowing it to assume multiple functions over time.
