Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic emphasized the importance of having well-ventilated environments, especially residences, as social housing – HIS. Thus, this work analyzed the speed and the pattern of the airflow inside a HIS with computational fluid dynamics CFD simulation, comparing its results with the opinion of residents obtained by an online questionnaire about the perception of the thermal comfort. The studies presented in this work, related to 4 solar orientations and to the natural ventilation impact, show that even if there is a favourable wind flow, the solar orientation has a great weight in terms of user comfort.
