Flexural tensile strength for structural masonry of concrete blocks, executed with thin joints of polymeric compound: test methods

This paper evaluates the flexural tensile strength for structural masonry of concrete blocks, executed with thin joints of polymeric compound. To this end tests were performed using NBR 16868-3 (2020) and AS 3700 (2017), for prisms with concrete blocks of 4, 8 and 16 MPa, considering cementitious and polymeric compound. The results show that the flexural tensile strength values are higher for polymeric mortars compound. When the two tests were compared, it was found that the data obtained through the Australian standard are greater than those obtained with the Brazilian standard test.
