Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that impact the willingness to purchase sustainable housing, considering environmental, economic and social aspects, from the user's perspective. A questionnaire was administered online, and a non-probabilistic sample of 163 valid results was obtained. Multivariate descriptive and correlation statistical analyzes were conducted, using Spearman's coefficient, with the SPSS software. Correlation analyzes were investigated in order to find the main relationships among 46 variables in the motivator group, and the variable “Would like to acquire sustainable housing”. The results revealed six variables with the highest positive correlation: Energy consumption efficiency; Conservation of natural resources; Waste reduction; Well-being; Reduction of building impacts on the environment; Taking advantage of natural ventilation. It is concluded that there are determining factors for the success in the adoption of sustainable housing, which involve not only environmental sustainability, but also financial incentives and social aspects that influence decision-making.
