Abstract

Adequate lighting is important to ensure comfort to users in buildings. In Restaurants, the illumination influences in the quality of alimentation and, in case of Restaurant of Campus de São Cristóvão (RESUN), of Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), an important fact is that the meals are directed to students who eat quickly, because of your daily activities. This research aims to evaluate the performance of RESUN's artificial lighting. The methodology consisted in .

stages of literature review, data collection for object characterization and illuminance measurements according to NBR 8995-1. Was calculated uniformity parameters and illuminance isocurves. The results showed that the restaurant’s ground floor and upper floor had average illuminances under 200lx and uniformity of 29% and 19% respectively. The propositions of changes in the lamps amount and layout try to attend to the standard requirements. Since the building, built in 1980, has been undergoing recent  renovations to  adapt the spaces.
