Abstract

Prefabricated modular construction is a technological solution with growing interest due to potential productivity gains, composition flexibility, waste reduction, greater cost predictability and less waste generation. This work deals with the use of modular bathrooms as an innovation in project management in a hotel project located in Recife-PE. We sought to identify the main advantages and disadvantages of applying the modules, comparing their results with conventional construction. The methodology included the case study of a hotel building under development located in the city of Recife-PE, in which a survey of projects, schedules and material comprising the modules was carried out. As a result of this research, a reduction of 3 months in total construction time was observed, compared to conventional construction, providing a reduction in costs and processes. This work contributes to the practical and theoretical understanding of modular construction, through a qualitative analysis between the results achieved and conventional construction.
