Abstract

The study presents climate data versus available data from the Ministry of Health regarding the dissemination of COVID-19 in the Brazilian territory. It focuses on the correlation analysis between data from automatic weather stations from the INMET network, specifically average daily temperatures and relative humidities, climate types defined by the Köppen-Geiger classification scheme, and data from the Ministry of Health. There was an inverse relationship between average daily temperature and number of cases and deaths registered in the country in the period evaluated. It was also noticed that the correlations were not necessarily stronger in the southern region of the country, but occurred to a greater extent in hot climates in the Brazilian territory.
