To improve brazil's housing conditions, the Federal Government in office at the time created in March 2009 the My House My Life Program (PMCMV). However, in the case of Track 1 of the Program, considered Social Interest Housing (HIS), there are many criticisms regarding the lack of customization of the project and not meeting the needs of users. Thus, the Value Methodology (MV) can be used as a way to increase the value delivered to the end users of HIS. However, previous studies have focused little on the essence of MV: Function Analysis (PA). The purpose of this article is to include AF in an MV application in a HIS project. To this end, an exploratory case study was conducted using three steps of the method proposed by Melo (2019) in the bathroom of a HIS project. R$684.25 was reallocated from one bedroom to the bathroom, allowing the inclusion of two secondary functions: Storing dirty laundry/hygiene utensils and performing beauty care. After performing the cycle of cost reallocations, it is inferable that through MV and AF, it is possible to deliver a product with greater value to the end customer without necessarily resulting in increased costs.
