Deconstruction is an alternative to the demolition process, which consists of carefully disassembling a building to reuse its materials and elements. The Design for Deconstruction (DfD) aims to condition the building for future deconstruction, making decisions in the early design stage to ensure safety in the disassembly and recovery of materials and elements at the end of its service life. In Brazil, the reinforced concrete structures are widely employed in building construction, and despite this system’s versatility, the materials and processes used hold a significant environmental load. In this regard, this study aims to propose guidelines to be considered in the design of reinforced concrete structures in order to enhance the deconstruction process feasibility at the end of its service life. A literature review on the topic and a questionnaire with brazillian professionals were carried out so that it was possible to develop these proposals. As a result, recommendations were made for reuse, disassembly, recoverability, and maintenance of deconstructibility.
