Abstract

Initiatives around the BIM adoption incentives have been intensified since the signing of the BIM BR Decree, with the creation of specific forums on the theme (BIM Brasil) At the governmental level, the Notice 03/2019 of the Ministry of Economy aim to promote a Collaboration Term for actions to promote gains in productivity and competitiveness in the civil construction sector. Considering the nine objectives defined in this notice, five are directly related to the dissemination of BIM. It is understood the need to revise the architecture undergraduate curricula to properly develop the necessary competencies and prepare professionals for the integrated use of digital technologies in the design and construction process. In this sense, this paper presents the preliminary results of an ongoing doctoral research about this subject and presents the analysis of the initiatives in favor of BIM competencies professional training by architects. Results indicate fragmented actions in events promoted by representative organizations, and postgraduate courses and emphasis on digital technologies (software), indicating the need for better understanding about skills needed by the professional who intends to work in the BIM process
