USE OF COORDINATION WEB PLATFORMS IN THE BIM PROJECT PROCESS OF BUILDINGS

Due to the high dynamics involved in the development of real estate projects, there are difficulties in the coordination of the design process due to the management of large flow of information, impairing its final quality. Web coordination platforms, when used with BIM, emerge as a tool capable of centralizing and managing communication. This research intends to analyze the implementation of coordination web platforms and their effects on the design coordination of building projects using BIM. The work was divided into two main stages: (a) understanding of the problem based on the diagnosis of processes in the design sector of a construction company, the research case study, through interviews and documents; (b) the observation of the implementation of the platform to support the design coordination of two projects of the company. The results presented made it possible to list the functionalities needed in a platform to mitigate the identified difficulties in stage (a) and their potential contributions, such as greater centralization and transparency of communication, serving as a reference to project coordinators and design teams for future implementations of coordination web platforms.
