DENSIFICAÇÃO CONSTRUTIVA E ACÚMULO DE CALOR
O CASO DE RECIFE/PE
Keywords:
heat accumulation, urban microclimates, thermal comfortAbstract
The constant replacement of the natural cover with impermeable materials causes changes in the local microclimatic and morphological characteristics, causing an increase of temperature, resulting in a sensation of thermal discomfort. This work aimed to verify the intensification of heat accumulation in the city of Recife/PE between 1998 and 2018, from the study of changes in soil cover and climatic variables. For that, climatic variables were analyzed in pariform points in 2017-2018 to a study made by the Laboratory of Environmental Comfort (Lacam) of UFPE in 1998. It was verified that all ten quarters explored showed an increase in the accumulation of heat. The neighborhoods of Graças and Morro da Conceição, which showed 20 years ago lower temperatures than those registered at the station, currently present a greater accumulation of heat, mainly due to processes of constructive densification. The Morro da Conceição revealed spontaneous increase, considering its character of Special Zone of Social Interest. The Graças neighborhood, on the other hand, had its densification produced by the real estate market, with replacement of single-family housing units and vegetation, by vertical buildings and by impermeable soil, which altered greatly the local dynamics. This shows mainly that the intensification of the urbanization process resulted in the studied precincts, worsening discomfort in microclimates in urbanization.
