CALIBRAÇÃO DE ÍNDICE PET PARA ESPAÇOS ABERTOS EM CLIMA SUBTROPICAL ÚMIDO
Keywords:
thermal comfort, PET index, calibration, outdoorsAbstract
The PET index is a widely used tool to evaluate the thermal comfort conditions in outdoor spaces; however it needs to be calibrated locally. This work aims to compare comfort ranges defined by two PET calibration methods, based on data from monitoring campaigns conducted between 2008 and 2011 in two distinct regions of the city of Bauru (SP). The methods of comparison were: 1) the higher frequency of thermal responses of thermal sensation votes grouped in bands with PET variation of 1º C; 2) the identification of statistically distinct PET bands from the Tukey test. The second method proved to be the most appropriate, in which different PET strips were established for thermal comfort for summer (29.3 and 33.4 ° C) and for winter (25.3 to 30, 3 ° C). Given the effect of acclimatization of the user it is proposed that this calibration be done considering the different seasons of the year.
