Solar orientation, thermoenergetic residential performance, computer simulationAbstract
Since the early 2000s, there has been an increase with the presence of the investment market in commercial, service, public and residential companies in Brazil. According to an Energy Research Company (EPE, 2018), the purchase of air conditioning equipment by families, even if still considered timid, doubled between the years 2005 and 2017, and there is an estimate that the demand for electric power for its use in homes may rise 5.4% year, and the application of energy efficiency strategies can reduce this estimate by up to 3 times. This work aims to verify the interference in the consumption and the thermal comfort level of a residential building the alteration of two variables in the construction: the solar orientation and the thermal insulation of the envelope For this, this research was divided into seven (07) steps: definition of the base project; definition of the envelope for compliance with NBR 15.575; base case performance simulation; simplified model optimization for compliance with RTQ-R - Level A; analysis of energy consumption results for models with two different solar orientations; thermal performance analysis - ASHRAE 55 - adaptive model, with two different solar instructions. The results obtained showed that the best orientation combined with a good thermal insulation level increases thermal comfort levels (up to 9.38% positively) and reduces energy consumption in up to 88.19% of a residential building.
