This work presents indoor temperature predictions of a radiant-capacitive heating and cooling system (RCHCS) applied, in cooling mode, in six Brazilian cities located in the Bioclimatic Zones 5, 6, 7 and 8. The cooling potential was experimentally studied in Curitiba, PR. Based on monitored temperature data, predictive formulas for the maximum, average and minimum indoor temperatures were developed and validated. Such formulas were then applied in order to analyze the thermal performance of the system in climatic conditions different from those that allowed their generation. The potential of nocturnal radiative cooling in each city was evaluated in terms of the sky temperature depression (DTsky). The performance of the cooling system is evaluated in terms of its ability to reduce the maximum and average indoor temperatures relative to outdoors and of percent reductions of cooling degree-days with respect to the adaptive thermal comfort range. Results show potentials of indoor temperature reductions ranging between 1.6ºC (in Monteiro, PB) and 2.2ºC (in Barreiras, BA), with corresponding drops in cooling degree-days ranging 83% - 99%, for Palmas, TO and Brasília, DF, respectively.
