BRISES SOLEIL
DESEMPENHO LUMINOSO EM AMBIENTE ESCOLAR
Keywords:
natural lighting, solar protection devices, brise soleilAbstract
This research aimed to investigate the luminous performance of school environments with and without a brise soleil, considering the case study in the city of Vitória - ES. The methodology, built from the use of computer simulations, made in the TropLux software in a previously selected school environment, with rectangular geometry, using types of standard skies from CIE (Commission Internationale L'Aclairage). The analysis was carried out at specific points of the environment, at pre-established times and days of the year. The simulations were made in two stages, the first with the opening oriented to North and South, horizontal brise and without brise; and the second with the opening oriented to East and West, horizontal brise (14 blades), inclined brise (7 blades) and without brise. The best performances are those to North orientation, and for South orientation only a small improvement was detected. As to the uniformity, for the studied types of sky, there was an improvement in the openings oriented to North, with an insignificant change in the South orientation. To East and West, in sky 12 (clear), the inclined brise allowed to reduce in half the number of blades, thus making possible a better relationship between the user and the outside environment. In a general way, the experiment made possible to affirm that the environments with brises helped to reduce the light contrasts and, consequently, also lead to improvement in the energy efficiency of the building, because they allow the best use of natural light and less need to use artificial lighting.
