MAPEAMENTO DO USO DE BRISES EM RECORTE URBANO EM VITÓRIA-ES
Keywords:

There are countless possibilities for facade configurations, like, in case of a humid tropical climate, shading devices at the openings, among them are the horizontal and vertical shading devices. These, if correctly dimensioned and positioned, can be an adequate strategy for the control of solar radiation from the internal environment. On the other hand, there is a forgetfulness regarding this function of the shading devices and an application prioritizing other aspects, among them the formal aspects. In view of this, this research aims to develop a mapping of the use of vertical and horizontal exterior shading devices, in a sample section of the city of Vitória-ES. The methodology was divided into three stages: definition of the urban sample and establishment of the aspects to be surveyed; systematization of the characteristics of the shading devices and organization of the information in the form of graphs; evaluation of shade masks, Solar Graph. The results showed that from the 266 buildings analyzed, only about 10% use exterior shading devices. Most of them are vertical devices and predominantly used in a garage type environment of residential buildings. Among the intentions of using the vertical shading devices, it was possible to infer that its adoption took place considering the aesthetic composition of the facade, increased privacy of the internal environment, in addition to constant ventilation of the environments, since most of them are used in garage environments without the sealing frame. In the case of horizontal shading devices, its adoption is justified due to the shading it promotes during times of greater solar height.
