Abstract

Daily Management (DM) is a lean practice widely used in the manufacturing industry to remove process instability, improve communication and solve problems quickly. This research aims to explore daily management in the context of construction and evaluate the results of its application in the process and planning and production control. The research strategy adopted was the case study with intervention. This intervention consisted of an implementation of the DM in a building construction site in Passo Fundo/RS with the participation of the companies’ management and operational staff. The main contributions of DM implementation for the planning and control system were: improved communication among the management levels and operatives; integration of Visual Management in planning process, facilitating decision making; collaboration improvement, through the identification of problems, causes and joint discussion of possible solutions.
