Abstract

Construction sites have a dynamic nature and present complexity of safety-related problems due to the diversity and instability of the factors involved. Agent-based modelling is a computational methodology that allows a simplified representation of reality to analyze complex systems from a bottom-up approach. This article presents an overview of the literature on using this methodology for safety analysis on construction sites based on a systematic literature review. The results showed trends related to theoretical approaches, purposes of the models, and gaps in risk scenarios.
