High-energy performance building projects require project-integrated solutions and energy simulations as support. A workflow between Building Information Modeling and Building Energy Model is proposed, supported by the standard IFC data transfer is proposed, aiming to identify the main challenges of the process and discuss how different applications process the same information. Three software solutions for architectural modelling were analyzed, two IFC verification software solutions and two IFC conversion to energy analysis IDF format. The same prototype in different software generated different quality IFCs models and consequently different quality IDFs. No solutions completely fill the requirements.
